Another new product from Xiaomi is the Mijia Air Purifier 5S air purifier. According to the company, it effectively combats six types of pollutants, including microparticles, and also supports integration into the smart home ecosystem and sterilization function.
Mijia Air Purifier 5S is equipped with three sensors to determine the concentration of harmful substances (formaldehyde, small particles PM10 and PM2.5) in the air, as well as humidity and temperature sensors. With their help, the device determines the degree of air pollution and its characteristics.
According to the specification, the purifier filters retain up to 96.95% of formaldehyde, up to 98.1% of solid volatile organic matter and up to 98.1% of toluene per hour of operation of the purifier in the room. In addition, the new product is equipped with an antibacterial and antiviral coating on the internal structure and a UV lamp, thanks to which it eliminates up to 99.99% of viruses (including H1N1) and bacteria (including Staphylococcus aureus).
The declared noise level of the device does not exceed 30.4 dB, and the device can be controlled using a mobile application or voice commands. Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier 5S will go on sale in China on April 1 at a price of $222.
