Samsung has finally decided to introduce support for seamless updates in branded smartphones. The first device to receive this opportunity was the mid-segment model Galaxy A55, which has already received the corresponding update.
The advantage of a seamless update is that the entire process happens automatically in the background, allowing you to use the gadget. When it’s finished, you just need to reboot your smartphone once. This method has already installed a new security patch on the Galaxy A55.
The user will be able to determine whether the update has been installed using a special indicator displayed in the status bar. It demonstrates two distinct steps: “Download and Install…” and “Verify”. Rebooting your smartphone after a software update may take a little longer than usual, but is still much faster than the traditional method of installing patches.
In the future, the possibility of seamless updates will appear on other Samsung smartphones, but exactly when this will happen is still unknown.
