Kaspersky Lab spoke about a new method of DDoS attacks in Russia

Must Read

The RBC publication, with reference to a Kaspersky Lab report, published interesting data about the changing nature of DDoS attacks in Russia. For example, from December to February, experts recorded an almost sixfold increase in such incidents compared to the same period last year.

The source notes that simultaneously with the increase in the number of DDoS attacks, their duration has decreased – attackers began to more often use the TCP short packet method, which overloads the company’s equipment with small data packets.

Experts also noted that cybercriminals were trying to change their tactics. If previously they attacked one resource in different ways for a long time, now they are going through the sites of the same company. As a result, they sometimes manage to discover a “weak link” that can be completely disabled.

Kaspersky Lab noted that there are a number of measures that help counter DDoS attacks. In particular, website support should be trusted to specialists with experience in combating such threats. In addition, it is worth carefully checking the agreements signed with suppliers, as well as using specialized enterprise solutions for DDoS protection.
