Film adaptations of video games have finally been put on stream, and now it’s the turn to adapt Minecraft, the mega-popular sandbox game from Mojang Studios. The role of Steve, the protagonist of the original, went to Jack Black, and, apparently, the artist was inspired by the image.
The actor spoke with the Gamesradar portal about the upcoming film and his preparation for it. Black, apparently, took the matter seriously – he spends days and nights hugging a virtual pickaxe to understand the rules of the world and develop the habits necessary for the tape.
I think that members of the Film Academy will appreciate my approach. I don’t want to jinx it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll get an Oscar for the film.
Let us remind you that filming of the film based on Minecraft started in January. The premiere of the film is scheduled for 2025.
