Pakistan’s Defense Ministry has sent a list of five names to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for the next army chief. According to the news, the names of five top generals are in the report. As per the seniority list, Lt Gen Asim Munir, Lt Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Lt Gen Azhar Abbas, Lt Gen Noman Mahmood and Lt Gen Faiz Hameed are contenders for the post of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff and Chief of Army Staff. The Defense Minister says that the name of the new Army Chief will be finalized by 25 November. The current Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa will retire on 29 November.
