The medical college has spent Rs 2 crores to buy a Holmium laser machine, which will be able to successfully treat lumps in urine and gall bladder. Till now the inconvenience of laser surgery was available only in Lucknow’s SGPGI and KGMU, but now GSVM’s Mini PGI is also available to the patients of the city. They will be able to get the benefit of laser surgery and they will not need to go to Lucknow.

Along with this, guidelines have been issued for the study of students along with treatment in the Urology Department of the Medical College, Dr. Sanjay Kala, Principal of GSVM Medical College told TV9 Bharatvarsh that kidney and urethral stones can be treated with laser. With the help, the mark can be easily removed by breaking it. Doctors say that prostate is the main problem found in the elderly. For which the Holium laser machine will prove to be very effective, apart from this, operations of tumor victims will also be done with this machine. Till now, due to non-availability of this surgery in Kanpur, patients from nearby districts had to visit Lucknow for treatment.
