Nepal Election Result 2022: Nepal’s Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has won the parliamentary elections for the seventh consecutive time. He won from Dadeldhura constituency in far western Nepal with a huge margin of votes. Deuba, 77, has never lost a parliamentary election in his political career spanning five decades. This time again he has maintained his old record by winning. This can be gauged from his popularity among the public.

Nepala Congress leader and sitting Prime Minister Deuba got a total of 25,534 votes, while his nearest rival and independent candidate Sagar Dhakal (31) got 1,302 votes, according to the election results. Thus Deuba won with a huge margin. Deuba’s challenger Dhakal, on the other hand, is a young engineer who had a verbal spat with Deuba five years ago during a public discussion on the ‘Shared Question’ program of ‘BBC’ (British Broadcasting Corporation). He then decided to challenge Deuba saying that now youth should enter politics and seniors like Deuba should rest.

Deuba is PM for the fifth time

Nepali Congress President Deuba is currently holding the post of Prime Minister for the fifth time. The ruling Nepali Congress has so far won 10 seats in the House of Representatives, while it is leading in 46 other seats. The main opposition CPN-UML (Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist) led by KP Oli has so far won three seats, while it has taken a lead in 42 seats. Voting was held on Sunday for the House of Representatives and the Legislative Assemblies of seven provinces in the Himalayan country. The counting of votes started on Monday. Elections are being held for 275 seats in the federal parliament and 550 seats in seven provincial assemblies in Nepal. Of the total 275 members of the Federal Parliament, 165 will be selected through direct voting, while the remaining 110 will be selected through a ‘proportional election system’. Similarly, out of a total of 550 members of the Provincial Assemblies, 330 will be directly elected, while 220 will be elected through the proportional system.

Deuba has good relations with India
Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has good relations with India. At present, his party Nepali Congress is leading in Nepal elections. If he wins the election and then becomes the prime minister, it will be good for India as well. At the same time, the Communist Party of Nepal led by former PM KP Oli is trailing in the elections. KP Oli is a supporter of China and he works at the behest of China. KP Oli had spewed a lot of venom against India when he was the PM.
