The Game Developers Conference, an annual gathering of video game developers, is about to come to an end. But despite the abundance of lectures, the organizers found time to announce the results of the GDC Awards 2024.
The undisputed winner this time was Baldur’s Gate III – its authors took home four awards. The complete list of laureates is as follows:
- Game of the Year: Baldur’s Gate III
- Best Design – Baldur’s Gate III
- Best Story – Baldur’s Gate III
- Viewer’s Choice – Baldur’s Gate III
- Best Technology – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
- Innovation Award – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
- Best Graphics – Alan Wake 2
- Best Sound – Hi-Fi Rush
- Best Debut – Venba
- Social Impact Award – Venba
- Ambassador Award – Fawzi Mesmara, Editorial Vice President, Ubisoft
- Lifetime Achievement Award – Yoko Shimomura, composer of Kingdom Hearts, Parasite Eve, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, etc.
This year, Game Developers Conference 2024 takes place from March 18 to 22.
