A mock drill has been conducted in Uttar Pradesh after the Union Health Ministry has ordered all states and union territories to prepare measures to deal with any emergency due to the increase in Covid cases in many countries across the world.

After the advisory issued by the Center, today on Tuesday in the hospitals of the States and Union Territories mock drill is being organized to ensure their preparedness to deal with any eventuality related to COVID-19. In this exercise, the focus will be on parameters like availability of health facilities, capacity of separate beds, beds with oxygen facilities, ICU beds and ventilator beds as well as maximum availability of doctors and other health workers in all districts. Union Ministry of Health Due to the increase in Covid cases in many countries around the world, all the States and Union Territories should take measures to deal with any emergency. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan had said in a letter that in view of increasing cases of Kovid in many countries, it is necessary that necessary measures are taken in the public healthcare sector in all states to deal with any emergency. Bhushan said that in case of increase in the cases of Kovid, complete preparations should be made in the hospitals to deal with it in all the districts. The Health Secretary said, the purpose of this exercise is to ensure the operational preparedness of these health institutions to combat Kovid-19.
